This is an appliance that is attached to your teeth lip/ cheek side and cannot be removed during treatment. They are brackets bonded onto each tooth and are connected with an arch wire and are sometimes referred to as "train tracks". The brackets can be metal, gold or white ceramic and the wire is tied(ligated) onto the bracket with a small elastic (module) .

D: Functional appliances
- Twin Block Appliance
This is a removable appliance used when the lower jaw is set back relative to the upper, giving the appearance of 'sticky out' teeth or protruding upper teeth. Mainly used in growing children. Also known as orthopaedic appliances.
E: Inman aligner
This is a removable appliance that is more visible than aligners ,but less costly and can be removed on social occasions .This is a good option if you do not want fixed appliances and does not want the expense of transparent aligners.
F: Simple Removable Appliance
This group include a variety of removable appliances created for specific needs.These appliances have limited use and cannot be used for complicated or fine tooth movements.
