Not all children qualify for NHS treatment . Eligibility is assessed at your initial consultation.
Orthodontic treatment is available for children under the age of 18 , if they meet specific criteria for treatment need.
The Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN) is used to assess the need for NHS treatment.
I have done IOTN calibration training to have the expertise for accurate use of the IOTN.
If you are concerned, it is advisable that you request your dentist, to refer your child for an NHS orthodontic assessment in order to determine their eligibility and need for treatment.
An orthodontic examination will be done at your first appointment to discuss treatment need and options available.
